Eligible employees:

Permanent employees who have exhausted accrued leave balances for vacation, PTO or compensatory time including deferred holiday unless this requirement is waived by the Human Resources Director.

Sick Leave/Vacation employees

Before you can be placed on Personal / Educational Leave Without Pay, you must exhaust your accrued leave balances for vacation and compensatory time.

 PTO employees

Before you can be placed on Personal / Educational Leave Without Pay, you must exhaust your accrued leave balances for PTO and compensatory time.

Duration of  Personal/Educational Leave Without Pay

  • Permanent Employees:
    Eligible employees may be granted up to 12 months in any 14 consecutive months.
  • Probationary Employees:
    Eligible employees may be granted up to 2 weeks in any 12 consecutive months.
