The 2010-11 seasonal flu vaccine is now available

All adults and children older than six months are encouraged to get vaccinated.

The 2009-10 H1N1 flu isn’t considered an emergency epidemic anymore, but the H1N1 flu virus is still circulating and making people ill. Getting this year’s seasonal flu shot is the best way to guard against the H1N1 and two other currently circulating flu strains.

Even if you had an H1N1 flu shot in 2009-10, you’re encouraged to get a 2010-11 seasonal flu shot now to boost your H1N1 protection and to gain additional protection against the other current flu strains.

Call your doctor's office and ask if seasonal flu shots are available there. Or use the "Find a Flu Shot" feature at the Minnesota Department of Health web site to find an authorized vaccinator near you.

Beyond getting vaccinated, you also can avoid getting and spreading flu viruses by practicing common prevention measures and staying home if you become ill.  Find out more.
