Hennepin County strives to lead by example by implementing environmentally preferable purchasing and recycling programs. Through Green Products Initiatives, the county identifies environmentally preferable purchasing and recycling options for specific products.

Hennepin County has implemented Green Products Initiatives for the following products:

• Carpet recycling
• Carpet and flooring purchasing
• Ceiling tile purchasing and recycling
• Electronics purchasing
• Green office supplies
• Lead-free wheel weights
